Spring is in the Air!!!
The end of the school year is just around the corner. The music department is busy preparing for several events and concerts. Please take note J of the details. We look forward to seeing everyone there!!!
Tuesday, May 21st
High School Music Department’s Spring Concert
Time: 6:15-Doors Open to Guests-for bidding on our silent auction items and enjoying some ice cream and Chick fillet sandwiches
The music starts at 7:00-be sure to bring your lawn chairs and blankets
Location: Farmersville Park (or VVHS Gym-Rain Location)
Details for the students-arrive at 5:30-change into concert attire, and warm up/sound check at 5:45
Thursday, May 23rd
High School Music Department Awards Banquet
Who: All High School Music Students (Symphonic Band, Choir, Marching Band, Guard)
Time: 6:00-Doors Open
6:15-Carry In Dinner Begins –Freshmen-Meat/Casserole, Sophomores-Hot Vegetable/Side, Juniors-Cold Side, Seniors-Dessert (each family is asked to bring a dish that would serve 10-12 guests)
Awards Ceremony following Dinner
Location-VVHS Gym
Attire-Your choice-This year’s theme is “Carnival”
Monday, May 27th
What: Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade
Who: VVHS Marching Band (guard will not be participating), Chamber Choir
When: Students arrive at 9:15 for warm up, ceremony begins at 10:00
Location: Student drop off-Veteran’s Park, Student pick-up-Captain 9’s parking lot following the parade to the cemetery
Attire: Marching Band students will be wearing –Summer Uniforms, and Chamber Choir students will be wearing solid black and solid white
Monday, June 10th
What: Valley View High School Commencement
Who: All Symphonic Band and Chamber Choir Students
Where: All Students (minus seniors), report to the HS at 5:00, change into concert attire and load the buses at 5:15. We arrive at the Schuster Center at 6:00 for set up and sound check. 6:30 pre service music begins (symphonic band), 7:00 Ceremony Begins. @ 9:00-Load Buses and head back to Valley View
